PanCareLIFE to GPOH and German RISK Group, Hannover

PanCareLIFE researcher Dr. AG Calaminus from UKM presented PanCareLIFE at the GPOH Principal Investigators Meeting held 12-13 March 2015 and at a symposium on late effects after radiotherapy in childhood cancer for the German RISK-Group held from 13-14 March. Both events were held in Hannover, Germany. Dr. Calaminus also participated in the GPOH Working Group on Long Term Surveillance focusing on PanCare activities in Germany.

EMC researcher awarded EJHG 2015 Award

Dr. Broer of EMC has been awarded the European Journal of Human Genetics (EJHG) 3rd prize 2015 for her manuscript entitled ‘Meta-analysis of telomere length in 19 713 subjects reveals high heritability, stronger maternal inheritance and a paternal age effect‘. Congratulations!

Ototoxicity presentation at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Audiologie, Bochum

PanCareLIFE researchers from UKM presented a lecture entitled  ‘Progressive post-treatment unilateral/asymmetrical threshold changes following cranial radiation in combination with platin-based chemotherapy’ at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Audiologie, Bochum, 4-7 March 2015.

It also spotlights the need for more equitable and better access to treatment and care for all children with cancer, everywhere.’

New advocacy group founded for survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer

A new advocacy group for survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer and their families has been founded in Ireland. PanCareLIFE Research Manager Julianne Byrne will join the Advisory Group. The Irish Times has a report here on the new group.
